From two years to the rest of my life. Why?

What I have learned that has changed the title of my blog from "Giving away two years" to
"Giving away two years. Is now the rest of my life!"

The short of it is the burning in my bones has changed to weeping in my heart.

As I traveled around engaging my fellow man (and woman) about the Lord I found that the need is far greater then my means.

I feel like the story of the father and child walking the beach. Where the child is picking up starfish and putting them back in the ocean to save their lives. The father looks down the beach and sees thousands. The child keeps carrying them back to the water one at a time. The father stops the child who is now in a frantic hurry, said "Look " and points down the beach, "it is pointless." The child looks him in the eye and says "Not to this one".

The biggest difference is that this earthly father thinks it is pointless, where as my Father rejoices every time a lost soul reaches the water.

My plan is to continue as long as I can.

How Many Times?

So how many times in your life do you get to see the hole rainbow? I can not remember ever. This happened at the last house before I go back to Florida to regroup. Must be a sign or something.

Yes that is my Jeep next to the American flag!!

Where did May go part three

I left Roanoke and went to KingGeorge VA. For those of you that are not familiar with VA this is form the south west part where Roanoke is to the north east part where KingGeorge is. About a three and a half hour drive and it was a great day to be on the road. The pic on the left is the sun coming up.

When I arrive it was interesting as the person I drove up here to meet was not home.
I was like really?
As I sat in the driveway and thought, she drove up, I was like thank you.

Here at this house I painted two bathrooms, sheetrock repair, touch up paining on an bedroom, weed eating, small engine repair work, and hours of power washing.

We also made a run to the local dump. And on this trip I learned how Virginia Boys like to haul there boats. No need to buy the trailer just through it in the back of the pickup truck. We also went to a yard sale. I like to go on a treasure hunt and that is how I see yard sales. I found no treasure this time......

Where did May go Part Two

So a brief summery of what I did my first stay in Roanoke VA is as follows. Painted a bathroom, a bedroom, kick boards on a stairwell, a bookcase, a mirror and did sheetrock repair, fixed a drain cover, replaced many screens, used lead anchors on a brick wall to hang art on and some plumbing work. I had work everyday. Yes this is my idea of fun.
I also did research for FM antennas and speakers So all in all a real good time.

Wow where did May go?

All right then, where did May go? I had way to much fun in May. I was in Fayetteville NC, Roanoke VA, Salem VA, and KingGeorge VA then to end the month in Raeford NC. With all that I'll now try and catch up my blog.

    First stop Roanoke VA

If you can not read this sign it says "Beware the Awesomeness beyond this point my be to much for the eyes of the Normal." This  was on the wall of a girls bedroom before I painted it. She picked great colors and it was a lot of fun paining. For those who know me know I like to rooms to be just plain white. But this too is a lesson I want to learn.

Just so you know there are jobs beyond the scope of my mission. I thought that I would be able to remove a drop ceiling, repair and paint the old ceiling.

But after some preliminary examination I could see that this job was going to be a bear. Like the wiring would have to be rerun and I have to assume that the water pipes could not be run though the floor so the owner would have to either accept exposed copper pipes, inclose them, paint them or except the drop ceiling. Any of these could be done but time was an issue and it is just me and Bear (my dog) so it needed to be a one man job. The drop ceiling stayed.

It's been a long time and I am not sure where to start.

OK and Yes it has been to long and my excuses are many. The truth is I did not post for many weeks and I know it. My best excuses are that I did not have internet where I was staying and the closest was not reliable so I did not want to use it. Just to do it two or three times to get my post out.

All that said so I can say my plan (as of right now) is to play catch up over the next few days. Internet willing.....

Yes I hope to do better. We will have to see.

All I have ever wanted was Happiness

OK, it does not look like a happy photo, but everywhere I go people want to run or work out. Now I am doing it on my own. Truth be known I feel good. I am not a marathon runner or a body builder, in fact the picture here is me gasping for air at the end of a 1.5 mile run... Ya I know don't laugh, it is a work in progress.

How true this is. Well for me anyway I am not rich or famous. But 99% of the time I'm happy. Thanks be to God. I am content with where I am. I wish you happiness too, in all you do.

My "Happy" in on a good foundation and my "Happy Train" stops for no one. Jump on if you are happy too.

Oh ya I love the beach too.....

The view from inside a car at a carwash.

Some other things that make me smile and be happy

Evening Sky on Roanoke VA

And to end this post one last thing that makes me happy. Sherbet and old movies at my baby girls house. Yes life is good and sometimes very good. Love and happiness to all. Jeff
